Clement Atlee

Leader of the British Labor Party in the 1940's. Atlee ridiculed F.A. Hayek and Winston Churchill during the 1945 election campaign, dismissing their claims of his inclinations to tyranny and totalitarianism. He defeated Churchill in the campaign, became Prime Minister of England, and soon afterwards began seizing coal, steel, railroads and other businesses. By 1950 there was forced labor in Britain.
