Nikita Khrushchev
1894 - 1971

Communist premier of the Soviet Union (1955-1964). Krushchev denounced Stalin and sought peaceful co-existence with the West. He and American president John F. Kennedy had famous meetings together, as well as the confrontation of the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962, before he was forced out of office.

Each year humanity takes a step toward Communism. Maybe not you, but at all events your grandson will surely be a communist.

If you feed people just with revolutionary slogans they will listen today, they will listen tomorrow, they will listen the day after tomorrow, but on the fourth day they will say "To hell with you!"

Politicians are the same the world over: they promise to build a bridge even when there is no river.

If we were to promise people nothing better than only revolution, they would scratch their heads and say: "Is it not better to have good goulash?"
