Jean-Baptiste Say
1767 - 1832

French economist, author of A Treatise on Political Economy and other works. Say developed the ideas of Adam Smith, expanding them explorations of the influences of entrepreneurship. His work influenced the study of economics in France for most of the nineteenth century. Say's principal idea came to be known as "Say's Law", which asserted that market forces would naturally produce equilibrium of production and demand.
