George Mason
1725 - 1792

Delegate to the Virginia Convention of 1776, draftor of Virginia's declaration of rights and state constitution, and contributor of ideas to Thomas Jefferson's drafting of the Declaration of Independence. Though not well known due to his distaste for politics, he is considered along with Jefferson and Madison to be among the most influential of the people who formed the principles of the American nation.
