Lenny Bruce
1925 - 1966

American comedian and social critic, a.k.a. Leonard Schneider, who became a counter-culture icon through his use of prohibited language and disturbing themes in his acts. In the words of one critic, he "disturbed the sleep of the nation", and made a career out of being offensive.
