Buckminster Fuller
1895 - 1983

Engineer, mathematician, research scientist, university professor, architect, inventor, salesman, corporate executive. Fuller led an amazing life filled with enough careers for several people. He invented the geodesic dome, which is implemented in over 200,000 structures (most of them large public facilities) around the world, and is less well known as the inventor of other innovations in housing, plumbing, and transportation. He spent his life challenging dogmatic thinking and encouraging his students to think beyond the horizon.
